6 Inspiring Podcasts for Personal Development

Podcasts are growing in popularity and are a great (and free!) learning tool. There’s just something really inspiring about the power of listening to someone talk vs. reading information on your own. Today I’m sharing six inspiring podcasts for personal development that will leave you feeling super motivated to tackle your goals.

1. Happier With Gretchen Rubin

Author Gretchen Rubin and her sister, Elizabeth Clark, discuss how to create healthy habits that stick. They have the perfect dynamic and use their own experiences to share actionable tips and advice to create a little happiness in your life.

Listen to: The One Minute Rule is a habit trick that means anything you can do in less than a minute, do it right then and there. I recommend trying it if you always avoid things you don’t want to do, which many of us struggle with.

She also has two minute episodes that reflect on a quote or story that always sends a great message. The episode My Inconvenience May Be Someone’s Miracle really struck a chord with me.

2. Optimal Living Daily

Technically an audio blog, Justin Malik reads different blog posts (with permission) and episodes are always short and sweet (under 10 minutes). It’s actually a really refreshing alternative to listen to blog posts, rather than reading them.

Also: Justin’s brother, Dr. Neal Malik runs Optimal Health Daily where he discusses health, nutrition, diet, and fitness, in under 10 minutes as well. Check out The Five Foods You Should Never Eat (you might be surprised at what they are!)

I first mentioned this podcast in my 10 Ways to Live a Happier Life post and it’s quickly become one of my go-to podcasts for healthy habit tips. I really like how Jeff outlines his tips into easy steps, making it much easier to internalize and put to action.

Chalene is really into lists (plus for me) and is motivating in the sense that she stresses the fact that we need to stop thinking about the changes we want to make, and start working towards them now.

5. The Lively Show 

This podcast is all about intentional living and following your intuition, and how to apply them to your every day life. Not only is Jess Lively incredibly inspirational herself (she is a full time traveler!), but her show always has the most inspiring bloggers, influencers, business owners, etc. And she is SO good at asking the right questions.  This podcast might be a little “out there” for some people, but if you’re into the woo woo stuff, you’re probably already listening to it!

6. Your Motivational High 5

Host Phil Larson shares short 5-minute episodes with the intention of motivating you live a more empowering life.
